Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MergeScope mobile application and web service ("Service") operated by MergeScope ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
MergeScope is a mobile and web application that connects to GitLab APIs to monitor merge request activity across one or more GitLab projects. The Service provides push notifications, polling-based activity updates, and an in-app interface for reviewing merge request status.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and Personal Access Token. You must not share your account with others or use the Service in a way that violates GitLab's own Terms of Service.
3. Subscription Plans and Billing
MergeScope offers the following plans:
- Free — no charge, limited to 3 projects and 60-second polling.
- Pro Monthly — $3.00 USD per month, billed monthly.
- Pro Annual — $24.00 USD per year, billed annually (equivalent to ~$2/month).
- Lifetime — $49.00 USD one-time payment for lifetime Pro access.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. By purchasing a subscription you agree to Paddle's terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time via your account settings or by contacting us at hello@mergescope.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
4. Refunds
Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details. In summary, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to access GitLab data you are not authorised to access.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Notice. We do not store your GitLab Personal Access Token on our servers — it is held locally on your device.
7. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Service, including the app interface, logo, and code, is owned by MergeScope. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or that data fetched from GitLab will be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MergeScope shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
